Allan Wishart

Allan Sinclair Wishart (b. 10 June 1945, Scalloway) is a councillor for the Shetland Islands Council ward Lerwick North, having represented the area since 2007.

Political Career

Wishart was first elected in the 2007 Shetland Islands Council election for Lerwick North, a three-member ward, together with Sandy Cluness and Caroline Miller.

Wishart was appointed as chairperson of the SIC Infrastructure Committee in 2007 following the election. On September 15 2009 when, he stood down and Iris Hawkins was voted as the chairperson, beating Jonathan Wills by 18 votes to 4. Wishart was appointed as vice-chairperson with 14 votes, beating Jim Henry (5) and Gary Robinson (3).

In 2012, Wishart was successfully re-elected to Lerwick North with Malcolm Bell and Michael Stout.
