Amanda Youngman

Amanda Youngman (neé Diamond) (b. January 31 1914, Greenock, d. 1 October 2001, Ellon) was a nurse and a County Councillor for Yell North from 1955 until 1961.

She was first married to John W. Regate in 1937 in Marylebone, London. She later married William Robert Youngman, but he died in 1959 in Lerwick aged 69. Her son, Robin, was born at the Gilbert Bain Hospital in 1945 and married Wilma Iris Ewen Ross in 1968, Aberdeen.

She unsuccessfully contested the Yell North seat at the 1961 County Council election.
