John William Eunson (b. 1920, Whalsay, d. 15 September 1978, Banchory, Aberdeen) was an RAF Pilot trainee, teacher in Scunthorpe, member of the London County Council, Lerwick Town Councillor and was a Conservative candidate for the 1955 Parliament election. In his life he also worked for the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company and the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board (1953-1957).

During his time in the RAF he was involved in an accident which saw him break his back and lose a leg. His obituary in the Shetland Times notes that "Jon made light of his physical disabilities and few realised the suffering he concealed with his ready smile and jocular manner". As indicated by the previous line, he was often referred to as "Jon".
