Joseph Peterson (b. 22 August 1861, Turill, Voe, d. 24 August 1953, Weathersta) was a County Councillor for Delting South between 1919 and 1922.

His nephew, Joseph was also a County Councillor.

He unsuccessfully contested the Delting North seat in the 1919 County Council election, but had also stood for Delting South where he was elected. He unsuccessfully contested the Delting South seat in the 1922 County Council election.
