The 1967 Lerwick Town Council By-Election occurred on August 8. R. A. Anderson had died just before the 1967 election, and in not enough time to change procedures which was set to elect 4 instead of 5. Following the election, Ronald P. Cumming, who had stood and failed to be elected, was appointed by the council as he had obtained the most votes out of the unsuccessful candidates.
