William Craigie (d. 1712) was a member of the Parliament of Scotland for Orkney and Shetland first in 1681, then again 1689-1690, 1696-1701. He was Knighted in 1690 by King William III. He was the Stewart Principle and tacksman of Earldom estates 1686-1691 also farmed Bishopric rents. His eldest son was killed at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704. The family lost much of its importance falling on evil days financially when trade slumped due to a series of bad harvests at the end of the 17th century. He was jailed for debt to Sir Archibald Steuart of Burray in 1703.
