'''George Douglas, 13th Earl of Morton''' (b. [[1662]] - d. 4 January [[1738]]), was a Member of the Parliament of the United Kingdom for Orkney and Shetland and a Scottish nobleman.

He was elected to represent the Isles in [[1713]]. He was the 2nd MP for the constituency, replacing [[Sir Alexander Douglas]], and served until [[1715]], when he was replaced by [[James Moodie]]

He was elected to the seat again in [[1722]] and served until [[1730]] when he was replaced by [[Robert Douglas]].

==Background==
Morton was a younger son of James Douglas, 10th Earl of Morton, and Anne, daughter of Sir James Hay, 1st Baronet.

==Political Career==
Lord Morton was returned to Parliament for Lanark Burghs in 1708, a seat he held until 1713 and again between 1715 to 1722, and also represented Orkney and Shetland between 1713 and 1715 and 1722 and 1730 He succeeded his elder brother in the earldom in 1730 and the same year he was elected a Scottish Representative Peer, which he remained until his death. He also served as Vice-Admiral of Scotland from 1733 to 1738.
