The constituencies of '''[[Gulberwick]], [[Quarff]] and [[Cunningsburgh]]''' first begun electing in [[1890]] as separate counties for the [[County Council]]. In [[1974]], when the County Council merged with the [[Town Council]] form the [[Shetland Islands Council]], the counties were joined and elected as Gulberwick, Quarff and Cunnings until the 1999 election.
