Robert Adair as he appeared in the Shetland Times, 1958.
Robert 'Bob' Adair (b. September 1922, Darlington, d. 22 March 2002, Lerwick) was a Senior Lecturer and Lerwick Town Councillor.
He unsuccessfully contested the 1958, 1960, 1961, 1968, the 1970 Lerwick Town Council elections and 1988 Lerwick Twageos by-election for the Shetland Islands Council, and for the Lerwick Breiwick seat at the 1990 Shetland Islands Council election.
Biography
Bob was a member of the National Health Executive Council, serving until 1974, with the last six years as chairman. He was on the Shetland Health Board from 1974 until 1985.
Bob resigned from the council in 1963 to complete his studies in engineering, and in the 1969 was a teacher.
