Charles Gilbert 'Charlie' Spence (b. 14 March 1924, Yell, d. 22 September 1996, Yell) was a County Councillor for Yell South between 1958 and 1964.

He unsuccessfully contested the Yell South seat at the 1964 County Council election.

Biography

During WWII, Charles served with the Royal Navy Patrol Service, serving in the Middle East at one point. At the end of the conflict, he returned to Shetland to the family croft. Alongside his council service, he was the chair of the local Community Council and a member of the Shetland Council of Social Service.

His great grandfather, Balfour Spence, was an early Lerwick Town Councillor.
