James Anderson Daniel (b. 21 September 1924, St Machars, Aberdeen - 2020, Inverurie) was a former accountant and Lerwick Town Councillor from 1955 until his resignation in 1962, always standing as an independent.
One of his sons, Hamish, worked for the Foreign Office and has held such titles as Ambassador to East Timor and Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi, Pakistan.
