Gilbert Gauden (b. 10 November 1779, Fetlar, d. 12 July 1860, Unst) was a Lerwick Town Councillor between 1818 and 1826.
Biography
Gilbert came from the Gauden of Swinister and Overland family. Shetland author Gilbert Goudie in his book The Celtic and Scandinavian Antiquities of Shetland links the Gauden family to Princess Marjorie Bruce (p. 203). Gilbert was in fact the 16th Great Grandson of Princess Marjorie Bruce.
