Alexander Mitchell (ii)

Alexander Mitchell (b. 27 July 1867, Doune, Stirling, d. 2 July 1919, Lerwick) was a solicitor and County Councillor for Sandsting between 1898 and 1904. He is the son of Alexander, agent for the Union bank and Lerwick Town Councillor.
Biography
Alex began his career at the Union Bank, before later joining the firm of John Small, a local solicitor for about three years. He then moved to Edinburgh to join Messrs Nelson & Bell, eventually qualifying as a legal practitioner. He returned to Lerwick and in 1897 set up his own legal firm.
Alex was involved in setting up the Zetland Liberal Association with John Irvine and was the Liberal Agent in Shetland.
