Leslie 'Gussie' Angus (b. 30 November 1940, Lerwick) is a former Shetland Islands Councillor.

He unsuccessfully contested the Yell North & Fetlar seat at the 1994 Shetland Islands Council election.

Political Career

Angus' first venture into local politics ended in defeat at 1994 election, losing to Brian Gregson, both as independents, in the Yell North And Fetlar constituency. In 1999 he was unopposed for the Lerwick South Central ward and was elected as a Liberal Democrat, and in 2003 for the same ward and party he beat Gary Robinson, who stood as an independent. When in 2007 the boundaries of the council wards were redrawn, Lerwick South Central was incorporated into Lerwick South, a three-member ward, Angus was elected together with Cecil Eunson, Jim Henry, and Cecil Smith.
