James Manson

James Maurice Manson (b. 6 January 1953, Northmavine, d. 23 April 1991, Aberdeen) was a Shetland Islands Councillor for Northmavine between 1990 and 1991. He obtained an MA from the University of Aberdeen in 1975, and also worked for the London Met for seven years. After spending some time in Orkney, he returned to Shetland. In the 1990 SIC election, he defeated his fourth cousin Bill Manson by 2 votes. The by-election which followed his death elected Bill Manson.
