William 'Willie' Peterson (b. November 22nd 1923, Wormadale, Whiteness, d. July 17th 1994, Lerwick) was an auctioneer, a Lerwick Town Councillor and a Shetland Islands Councillor for Lerwick Sound between 1974 and 1976. He was for many years auctioneer at the old Shetland Marts on the South Road (Site now Tesco's Supermarket).

He was the 1970 Guizer Jarl for the Lerwick Up Helly-Aa, and represented 'Einar Thambarskelver'.
