John Scott in his 70's.

Sir John Hamilton Scott (b. 1936) is a former Lord Lieutenant for Shetland from 1994 up to his retirement on his 75th birthday, November 30th 2011.

He unsuccessfully contested the Bressay seat at the 1970 County Council election.

Biography

He was made a Knight Commander of the Victorian Order (KCVO) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in June 2011.

John is the father of Tavish Scott, who was elected as the Liberal Democrat Member of the Scottish Parliament for Shetland at the inception of the Parliament in 1999.
