Joseph Simpson

Joseph Gilbert 'Josie' Simpson (b. 1937, Whalsay) is a former Shetland Islands Counciller for the North Isles ward.
His wife, Hazel, was also a councillor, representing Whalsay And Skerries between 1993 and 1994, following the death of Henry Stewart.
Political Career
Simpson was first elected onto the Shetland Islands Council in 2002 for Whalsay and Skerries via a by-election. He retained this seat in the 2003 election. In 2007 the boundaries of the Shetland Islands Council were redrawn and Whalsay was incorporated into a 3-member ward. At the 2007 election, Simpson was elected onto the North Isles ward beside Robert Henderson and Laura Baisley.
