Alexander Mitchell (b. 28 April 1827, Tain, Scotland, d. 21 August 1904, Lerwick) was an agent for the Union Bank in Lerwick, and a Lerwick Town Councillor. His son, Alexander was the a County Councillor.
He originally set up the Gas-Light Company and public library in that town.
