Reverend John Love (b. 1851, Glasgow, d. 28 Jan 1932, Edinburgh) was a minister in Yell for 24 years and a County Councillor for the Yell South parish between 1890 and 1892.

Biography

John was educated at the Church of Scotland Training College in Glasgow, later attending Glasgow University for further education in theology. After completing his studies, he began his career with the Presbytery in Greenock, and was later an assistant minister in the parish of Dunoon and Kilmun. He was ordained into Yell on 8 April 1886, serving until 1910 when he moved to the Quarff Church of Scotland until late 1916.

He was involved in a number of bodies outside the church, including the Parish council, and School Board. He was also a Justice of the Peace. Upon his retiral in 1916, he left Shetland.
