Alexander Dixon 'Sandy' Bennet (b. 11 August 1916, Glasgow, d. 2003, Callander, Stirling), known as Sandy Bennet, was a PE teacher, merchant and owner of a business at 111 Commercial Street called Shetland Wools, and was a County Councillor for Burra between 1959 and 1964.

He unsuccessfully contested the 1958 and 1959 and 1963 Lerwick Town Council elections and the Burra seat at the 1964 County Council election.
