Harry Sinclair Drever (b. 28 October 1905, South Ronaldsay, Orkney, d. 19 July 1997, Lerwick) was a bank manager and County Councillor for Walls between 1960 and 1970.

Biography

Harry served his apprenticeship in the St Margaret's Hope branch of the Union Bank of Scotland in Orkney. He worked in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Lerwick up until the outbreak of WWII. During the war, he joined the Air Sea Rescue Service of the Royal Air Force and found himself stationed all around the UK coast, including in Northern Ireland and at Sullom Voe.

After demobbing in 1946, he rejoined the bank and in 1950 was transferred to the Lerwick branch. While under his management, the Union Bank merged with the Bank of Scotland. Harry continued to work in the bank until he retired in 1970.

He held a number of roles on public bodies in retirement, including as Chairman of the Shetland Health Board and Shetland Territorial Association and treasurer to the British Red Cross Society among many others.
