James Thomason

James Thomason (b. 15 May 1853, Hildasay, d. 7 March 1924, Walls) was a farmer, factor and County Councillor for Walls between 1907 and 1919.

Biography

At an early age, James went to sea. When Herbert Anderton purchased Vaila in 1883, James became Factor to the estate. At one point, James acted as factor for five different proprietors the main two were Foster of Burrastow, Anderton of Vaila. The remaining three, Allan, Richards and Ridout, were absorbed into the Vaila estate.’
