Andrew Nicolson
From Shetland History Online
Andrew John Nicolson (b. 31 July 1891, Noss Sound, Bressay, d. 7 July 1967) was a Post Office Clerk, Telegraphist and Lerwick Town Councillor.
Town Council Obituary Notes
He was a Labour man who was active within the party, and his style of politics was of a quiet, genial nature. He was the Provost between 1965 and 1967.
Nicolson himself would often recall how as a member of the Post Office, he and some colleagues were jailed during the First World War, accused of theft of documents - these allegations were false, however.
