George Leslie, (b. 28 December 1870, Dunrossness, d. 8 December 1950, Laxfirth, Tingwall), was farmer and County Councillor for Whiteness and Weisdale from 1925 until 1928.

He unsuccessfully contested the Tingwall seat at the 1901 County Council election.

Biography

For most of his life, George operated the Laxfirth farm, assisted by his sons, where he became one of Shetland's leading milk suppliers. He also farmed sheep and bred some ponies.

George was a founding member of the Shetland Agricultural Society, acting as President from 1926 until his death.
