James John 'Jim' Taylor (b. 31 March 1906, Whiteness, d. 8 November 1981, Lerwick) was the founder of J. J. Taylor ('Jim Taylor's'), a shop which still exists today, and also was a Lerwick Town Councillor.
Biography
Jim took over George Nelson's business on Commercial Road, and expended its offering from dairy to include more, and a new confectionery section.
He was the final Provost representing the Lerwick Town Council, which was replaced by the Shetland Islands Council.
