James Halcrow

James Robert Halcrow (b. 29 July 1919, Hoswick, Sandwick, d. 4 February 1993, Lerwick) was a bus driver, crofter, and County Councillor for Sandwick between 1961 and 1970.

Biography

During WWII, James sailed aboard cargo ships. When the war was over, he returned to Shetland where he drove cattle trucks and latterly was a school bus driver. He also worked in agriculture, and was involved in sheep and grazing committees.
