- Thomas Johnston, (1873-1936), solicitor and Lerwick Town Councillor from 1932 to 1935.
- Thomas Johnston, (1894-1972), Town Clerk from 1949 to 1960, a County Councillor, first for Cunningsburgh between 1922 and 1925 then Gulberwick from 1925 to 1936, with 1935-6 as convenor.
