Donald George Sutherland (b. 6 July 1914, Yell, d. 11 November 1989, Lerwick) was an author and County Councillor for Delting North between 1952 and 1955.
He unsuccessfully contested the Lerwick Sound seat at the 1978 Shetland Islands Council election.

Donald attended the Ulsta school in Yell as a boy and later in Lerwick. He qualified as an accountant and worked for many years in Dunfermline. When he returned to Shetland, he worked for AQS and Pearson & Tawse. He was a regular participant at the Althing.
