William Collie

William Bain Collie (b. 24 March 1909, 107 John Street, Aberdeen, d. 1960, at sea) was a County Councillor for Bressay from 1945 until 1949, representing the Labour Party.

Biography

He was the chairman of the Seamans union.

The Shetland Archives has a copy of the manifesto he used during his 1945 campaign, and also two articles written by him in the only two editions of The Shetland Monthly ever published, entitled Trades Unionism in Shetland and Trade Union Affairs.
