John Robertson Smith (b. 18 September 1899, Yell, d. April 1978) was a County Councillor for Bressay between 1960 and 1966 and a Lerwick Town Councillor between 1966 and 1970, first as an independent then later a Labour candidate.
He unsuccessfully contested the Nesting seat in the 1955 County Council election, the 1955 Sandwick by-election and the Nesting seat at the 1958 election.
