John Malcolmson Tulloch (b. 20 September 1857, Sandfield, Sandwick, d. 9 April 1912, Vancouver, Canada) was a merchant and a County Councillor for Cunningsburgh between 1896 and 1901.

Biography

John left Shetland as a young man and worked for some time with Messrs James J. Goudie & Co, Glasgow, operated by a cousin of his. He joined the army and rose to the rank of sergeant with the 78th Highlanders. He was discharged from the army in the 1880's through injury. He joined the firm of Andrew Smith, before eventually starting his own company, then becoming a partner in a a firm of salesmen and becoming a fish salesman himself. Latterly, he became a flesher. He unknowingly was suffering from cancer of the stomach and travelled to Vancouver in 1911 to visit friends, hoping that his ailing health would improve with a change of climate, but succumbed to his condition in 1912. In politics, he was a believer in Liberalism and was a member of the Congressional Church.
