Robert Haldane

Robert Camperdown Haldane (b. 20 Jul 1848, Edinburgh, d. 10 May 1914, Northmavine) was a County Councillor for Northmavine North between 1903 and 1907.
He unsuccessfully contested the Northmavine North seat in the 1907 County Council election.
Biography
He was educated at Loretto School and Edinburgh Academy. Upon finishing school, he left the UK for Sri Lanka (Ceylon) where he lived for a number of years. He purchased the estates of North Roe and Lochend and in 1898 returned to Shetland.
He held the office of Justice of the Peace. He was recognised by the Lord Lyon King of Arms and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Office on 8 April 1907.
