Lachlan MacFadyen
Reverend Lachlan MacFadyen (b. 15 April 1860, Shandon, Argyle and Bute, d. 29 October 1939, Tillicoulty, Clackmannanshire) was a minister, justice of the peace and a County Councillor for Yell North from 1922 until 1925.
Biography
The son of Alexander M and Elizabeth Mitchell, Lachlan was educated at Garelochhead Primary School, University of Glasgow, University of Edinburgh, New College Edinburgh and Glasgow F C College. He was ordained by the Congregational Union at Tillicoultry Congregational Church 27 Nov 1894 but resigned 1910. He was then later admitted to the United Free Church in 1910, and was inducted in to North Yell on 9 Sept 1910. During the first World War, he did service with Scottish Churches Huts in France 1918. On 24 July 1925 he was transferred and inducted to Coalsnaughton. Married 22 Dec 1889 Jeanie Rae Faichney. Justice of the Peace for Orkney and Shetland 1919.
