James Anthony 'Jeemie' Jamieson (b. 7 September 1896, Norby, Sandness, d. 2 January 1965, Lerwick) was a wool merchant, County Councillor for Sandness between 1932 and 1949 and he was also a Lerwick Town Councillor from 1949 until his resignation in 1950

Biography
James was educated at Sandness Primary School and later at the Anderson Educational Institute. After school he joined the merchant navy, but the ship he joined was taken over by the Admiralty in WWI and was stationed at Scapa Flow as a supply ship to the Royal Navy. In 1923, James returned home and joined his father's merchant business in partnership with his brother Laurence, who passed away in 1925 as result of injuries sustained in the war.
After his father opened a business in Tagon, Voe, James became the sole partner of the Sandness business which he expanded into the wool trade. He sold his business and moved to Lerwick in 1946, operating as a wool dealer on his own, and then later with John Smith to form Jamieson & Smith (Shetland Wool Brokers) Ltd.
He retired to Scalloway.
