Dunrossness North County Council By-Election October 1971

The 1971 Dunrossness North County Council By-Election took place on November 10. Following the resignation of Iain T. Campbell, James W. Leask was appointed.
When the by-election was initially announced, Mrs Mary Fisher was the sole candidate and was set to be appointed to the seat. However, she spend a few hours a week under the employment of the local Council and so was disqualified from running. She subsequently ran again but James Leask was appointed.
