The 1950 Yell South County Council By-Election took place on 1 August. A minor seat merry-go-round occured when George Ross resigned from Tingwall, causing George K. Spence to leave the Yell South seat in order to take up the vacant Tingwall position, and John Williamson taking the vacant Yell seat.
