George Sinclair (b. 23 December 1839, Hillock, Dunrossness, d. 28 September 1908, Hawick) was a merchant and County Councillor for Northmavine North between 1892 and 1897.
Biography
Sinclair had an extensive business in Ollaberry, the Shetland Tweed Manufacturers. He resigned from the council in 1897 and left Shetland he went to manage a farm in South Wales, but then later settled with his family in New York before finally moving to Hawick. He was Chairman of the Northmavine School board for a time.
He unsuccessfully contested the Northmavine North seat at the inaugural Zetland County Council election in 1890.
